Working together in the digital age
The Euroclear group is a Belgium-based financial services provider specializing in the settlement of securities transactions and the custody of these securities.
This makes Euroclear the largest international central securities depository in the world. It processes domestic and international securities transactions, in bonds, equities, derivatives and investment funds. Euroclear provides securities services to financial institutions in more than 90 countries.
The way we collaborate, communicate, share information, meet and decisions, has been thoroughly shaken up and continues to evolve rapidly. 95% of Euroclear employees have been working from home since March 2020 and the expectation is that home working, even after the pandemic, will be the ‘new normal’. Therefore, in 2020, Euroclear launched a track around the “New Way of Working” (NWOW), within which 6 “squads” of 10 to 12 employees work together on various themes:
- Flexible working environment
- Self-managing teams
- New ways of communicating and collaborating
- The learning organization
- Real-time information sharing
- New management mindset and practices
- Empowered teams with an agile mindset
The project was called “Flex-e”
In a “digital safari” we inspired the Euroclear squads around how to collaborate, share information, meet, make decisions and learn optimally in remote and online environments.
In 3 online modules we offered a mix of best practices, testimonials, expert views, peer-2-peer exchange and feedback moments. In total, we brought over 15 testimonials from companies such as IBM, Telenet, Proximus, Innocom, ShowPad, White Cross, KBC, Carglass, Microsoft, Mural and Gitlab. The highly interactive sessions were introduced by our lead Argonauts from Vlerick, Mural and Carglass.
We used online video conferencing, learning, co-creation and polling tools such as Zoom, Mural and Slido. During these sessions, participants were already given the opportunity to answer the acquired take-aways and pressing questions in an online co-creation workshop per squad.
The safari resulted in very concrete learning and action points to get to work with the inspiration gained within Euroclear.
