FIT is constantly looking to improve its services to Flemish companies and is fully committed to innovation!
Challenge
Partly as a result of digitization and globalization, FIT has to deal with important changes in the business landscape that have an impact on the way in which FIT must facilitate and organize its services to companies. In particular, fulfilling the role of the International Business Advisers (AIOs) faces major challenges, including:
- Emergence of new technologies such as AI, VR / AR, IoT, blockchain, etc.
- Government cost savings: do more with less.
- Complexity of the organization
- From “functions” to “roles”
- Increasing importance of incubators, business clusters and network organizations in supporting international business.
- New ways of communicating (Whatsapp, social media, …)
To address these challenges, FIT asked The Argonauts to initiate an organizational development process based on design thinking and co-creation with the AIOs around the question “What should a forward-looking service around consultancy and internationalization look like?”
Approach & results
We started with a guided online survey among 50 (potential) FIT customers about their behavior and motivations with regard to international business as input for empathy. We then went on to co-create with FIT’s international business advisers, from which three new service concepts for start-ups, SMEs and large companies have emerged. We have been inspired in this by new technologies, organizational forms, social trends and behavioral change of the target groups.
Finally we have formulated recommendations from which an organization development process will be set up.
