Cocreation in technology driven topics
IMEC and the University of Antwerp play a crucial role in transferring the knowledge built up in the universities around AI and IoT to the Flemish industry. To enable this knowledge transfer, the so-called 'Coock' projects were started.
Challenge
IMEC and the University of Antwerp asked The Beacon and The Argonauts to facilitate the communication, participation and co-creation activities of the 'Smart Port 2030' project. The Smart port 2030 project has the ambition to transfer technological knowledge around AI and IoT to the port-related and logistics activities and companies in Flanders. The intention is to set up concrete public-private partnerships so that the Flemish industry can take full advantage of the knowledge already available.
This involves knowledge transfer in 3 areas:- Micro level → within the own company
- Macro-level → within the broader ecosystem of the port
- Sustainability → how to use AI to develop more sustainable solutions in the port and logistics environment?
Approach & results
The project will run over about 3 years and involves as many ports and companies as possible so that a maximum impact can be realized.
The Argonauts organize inspiration, matchmaking and co-creation sessions on a regular basis. So far, cases of the following companies and organizations have been discussed: Ahlers, Port+, Port of Antwerp, Brabo, CMB.
